PADs at CIT International 2026

At the 2026 annual Crisis Intervention Training International Conference in Orlando, Florida, Orange County Sheriff's Department and Concepts Forward Consulting spoke on the value of Psychiatric Advance Directives and mental health crisis response. OCSD has trained its Behavioral Health Bureau on PADs use and access, and continues to provide resources to families they encounter as ambassadors for PADs use.

The presentation was rated the best that participants saw over the conference's three days, and organizers have asked the team to apply to present again next year.

We are so proud of the efforts of our participating counties as they move the needle forward on PADs use and understanding, and on the digital registry. Thank you to our OC partners for taking the time to present on PADs!
